The Necessity of Tomorrow(s) is a conversation series on art, race, social justice, and imagining the future(s) we want. We partnered with the Baltimore Museum of Art to promote this timely series featuring world-renowned black artists and writers, including Ta-Nehisi Coates, Boots Riley, and Mark Bradford.
As a supporting element, we designed a series of “interrupted” objects where provocative messages disrupt vernacular advertising and signage. Art as much as promotion, these detournéments help carry the conversation’s themes beyond the walls of the lecture hall and into the city landscape.
The Necessity of Tomorrow(s) website invites visitors to share their own visions of tomorrow. Submissions shape the discussions at and following each event.
